Professional Biography

Jenna graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2001 with a BA in molecular biology and a minor in biochemistry. She graduated with honors for her research studying the neural pathways involved in learned helplessness in rats. Her work was published in the peer-reviewed journal Brain Research.

She earned her MD from Jefferson Medical College in 2005 and then completed residency training in pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego. In 2008, she returned to Colorado and joined an emergency medicine group in Denver, where she worked for eight years as a physician in emergency departments across Denver.

The business side of medicine became increasingly hard to ignore. Market-driven initiatives, performance metrics at odds with best practice, and administrative pressures left her feeling misaligned. When several personal and professional factors converged at once, she made a career pivot.

The pivot led her to the holistic wellness world, where she spent six years as a science writer and communicator, a role through which she eventually became a recognized expert in the science of heat therapy. Her role involved knowing and analyzing the latest science related to heat therapy and summarizing the science for upper management, as well as leading the development of consumer-facing content. She appeared as an expert on industry-leading podcasts, including the internationally followed Dr. Joseph Mercola podcast.

Jenna brings a rare perspective, grounded in her science roots, shaped by her breadth of experience, and above all unapologetically honest.
