These pieces are written for a general audience, with the full range of science backgrounds. These are written for the reader who took 9th grade biology 20 years ago, but also meant to engage the physician or biologist. This is the fun category.
These pieces allow some degree of creative freedom and personality. All my writing is science-based, with facts checked and cited. But here there is room for my own voice to explain the concepts and tie it all together.

This is the heavy lifting category. These projects are generally written for professional audiences. They often involve extensive literature searches, multiple revisions, technical formatting requirements, and sources cited according to the appropriate format. Accuracy is paramount.
The work is rigorous, but digging into the science, fitting the details together into a coherent whole, is also what makes it rewarding. I enjoy learning as I write and working out how to present complex information clearly and precisely.
